The defendant played a "sweet game" with the minors, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to consume candy "rapidly".

She stated to the judge Ruben had played this game with the boys "over an extended period", and children had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.

"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that time," she stated further.

The regulatory agency, the police conduct office, previously told that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.

Mrs Prior stated the minors were struggling to walk due to their condition, so the stepson notified the police a second time.
