Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Police state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then discovered multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior political figure said the vandalism left him speechless and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in five years prior.
